President's Welcome
The Fresno County School Trustees Association is pleased to welcome you to our website. Historically, school boards are one of the oldest of the publicly elected institutions in our country; their roots go back as far as 1647. Thomas Jefferson, and others of his time, believed that education would guarantee that newly won freedoms would not be lost through a passive and ignorant citizenry. In the seven decades since the founding of the Trustees Association, the county’s school districts have grown, unified and experienced many educational challenges. School Board Trustees consider it both an honor and important responsibility to fulfill the vital role of educational decision-makers for the students of our communities. Through this website, we hope to provide you the opportunity to get to know the role trustees play in promoting quality education in Fresno County. We consider you an educational partner and welcome your input. You may share your thoughts with us by clicking on the email address above. Orlan Boyd
